AI Must Not Stifle Student Reasoning, Warns Indonesian University Official

The rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping nearly every facet of human existence, and the realm of education is no exception. Nurmalasari, head of the Education and Learning Development Institute at Nusa Mandiri University in Indonesia, has issued a strong caution. She emphasizes that while AI offers numerous benefits and efficiencies, it should not be allowed to diminish students' innate reasoning abilities. The core message is a plea to ensure that technological advancements serve as aids rather than replacements for fundamental cognitive processes.

The university official stresses the importance of nurturing students' capacity for independent thought, analysis, and problem-solving.
