DistantNews is designed to respect your privacy as much as possible.

• No user accounts (yet). There are no sign-ups, logins, or profiles at this stage.
• Cloudflare Analytics. We use Cloudflare's built-in analytics, which provides overall traffic data without tracking individual users or setting cookies.
• Local storage only. Dark mode preferences and any future "saved countries" features use your browser's localStorage, which never leaves your device.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this site. Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. For more information on how Google uses your data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Fonts

We use Google Fonts to display typography on this site. When you visit a page, your browser downloads font files from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address and basic browser information. See Google Fonts Privacy for details.

Under the GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and similar data protection laws, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to opt out of data sales or personalised advertising. When we add features like newsletter sign-up or user accounts in the future, this page will be updated before those features go live. Newsletter sign-up will use double opt-in from day one.

• Before you choose: All ad-related storage and personalisation defaults to denied. AdSense may serve contextual (non-personalised) ads and use limited cookies solely for fraud detection.

• If you decline: You will still see contextual ads, but no personalisation cookies are set. Ad performance cookies remain denied.

Content Policy

DistantNews is a news research, translation, and publishing service. Our content includes:

1. Translated headlines and descriptions from vetted international news sources.
2. Original English-language summaries written by our team.
3. Country profiles, guides, and editorial resources.
4. Blog posts and articles on international news and media.
5. Every translated article prominently credits its source and links to the original.

Our summaries are original, transformative works created for discovery purposes. We drive traffic to source newspapers, not away from them.

Source Removal

If you represent a news outlet and would like your content removed from DistantNews, we honour those requests promptly. Please email us at contact@distantnews.com.

Accuracy

While we strive for accuracy in our translations and summaries, errors may occur. Always refer to the original source article for authoritative information.
