100-year-old Simonne attends Clouseau concert for the first time: 'Koen has beautiful eyes'

Simonne Apers, a 100-year-old resident of Antwerp, recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by attending her first concert by the Belgian band Clouseau. The event took place at the 'Muziek aan 't Water' city festival, conveniently located just a few streets from her home.

Apers has been a devoted fan of lead singer Koen Wauters since his early hit 'Anne.' She humorously recalled disliking his past fashion choices, like jeans paired with cowboy boots, but acknowledged that his partner Valerie helped him develop a more stylish appearance. Her daughter, Katelijne Baetens, explained that practical reasons, such as the long duration of typical concerts, had previously prevented Simonne from seeing Clouseau live.

The concert proved to be a highlight, especially when Simonne had the opportunity to meet Koen and Kris Wauters. "I was a bit stunned. But it happened and it was very nice. Koen has beautiful eyes," she laughed. After the show, Simonne expressed her deep satisfaction, describing the experience as "beautiful. It was complete. It's inside."

Simonne, who recently passed the century mark, attributes her longevity to a consistent routine, including waking up at 11 a.m. daily and enjoying a hearty breakfast of fried bacon. She maintains a simple diet and remains open to new experiences, stating, "I want to taste as much of life as possible."
