12 activists detained in Belgrade after protesting Israeli arms factory

A group of twelve activists advocating for Palestine were detained in Belgrade following a protest against the establishment of an Israeli drone factory in Serbia. The initiative "Support the People of Palestine" reported the detentions, stating that their members were peacefully moving after the demonstration concluded in Knez Mihailova Street when police apprehended them. The activists are reportedly held at two different police stations: Majke Jevrosime and Savska ulica.

The protest itself took place outside the Sky Line Tower on Kneza Miloša Street and concluded near the Rajićeva shopping center. The organization released a statement along with a video, demanding the immediate release of all detained individuals. Among those detained were two philosophy students, according to reports from student blockades.

While the exact number of detained citizens varies slightly between reports, with some mentioning ten and others twelve, the core demand remains the same: the release of the activists. The Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs had not issued any official statement regarding the detentions as of Sunday evening.
