14 military personnel remain unaccounted for after explosions in Viacha

Fourteen military personnel remain unaccounted for after two explosions at military facilities in Viacha, including 13 conscripts and a first sergeant.

Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Amaru, commander of the Bolívar Regiment and the General Maintenance Center, released the list of people who were in the affected area. He emphasized that it identifies missing personnel only, not confirmed fatalities.

The list includes eight members of the first group at the General Maintenance Center, four from its second group, a soldier from the Bolívar Artillery and Maintenance Regiment, and first sergeant Mauro Quisbert Vega, an instructor.

Specialized teams continue search, rescue and debris-removal operations. Authorities are staying in contact with the families, and Amaru said officials will update the list after verifying any changes. He reiterated that none of the 14 people should be considered dead without official confirmation.
