14-year-old sentenced to eight years for murder after stabbing woman 80 times

A 14-year-old girl has been convicted of murder and sentenced to eight years in prison by the Vienna Regional Court in Austria. The court found the teenager responsible for the brutal killing of a 64-year-old woman, who was visiting a cemetery. The victim sustained more than 80 stab wounds and died at the scene. The convicted minor will also be admitted to a forensic-therapeutic center for treatment of her psychological problems. Investigators revealed that the girl, who has struggled with mental health issues for years, targeted the stranger with a folding knife due to homicidal fantasies. She confessed to seeking a victim at a Vienna cemetery in February, attacking the woman from behind and inflicting 82 stab and slash wounds, primarily to the head and neck. After the attack, the teenager took photos of the body and sent them to friends, stating she wanted them to know she was going to prison. She then called the police herself. During the trial, the Austrian teenager admitted to consuming violence-related videos and films about serial killers almost daily, describing it as giving her a 'kick.' The verdict is legally binding.
