18,736 households at risk of poverty supported by housing program

Austria's "Wohnschirm" program has provided crucial support to 18,736 households facing poverty and the threat of eviction due to rent arrears since its inception in 2022. The Social Ministry announced that this initiative has collectively aided 42,291 individuals, offering a lifeline to those struggling with housing security.

A significant aspect of the program's impact is its reach to families, with children residing in 44% of the households that received assistance. This underscores the program's role in preventing homelessness and stabilizing living conditions for vulnerable families.

Beyond direct eviction prevention, the "Wohnschirm Energie" component has benefited 90,732 individuals, addressing energy poverty.
