18 Players Could Make Derby Debuts as Fenerbahçe Host Beşiktaş

Eighteen players could experience a first when Fenerbahçe host Beşiktaş in the fourth week of the Süper Lig. If selected, five Fenerbahçe players will face Beşiktaş in the derby for the first time in the yellow and navy shirt, while 13 Beşiktaş players will make their first appearance against Fenerbahçe in black and white.

Fenerbahçe’s possible debutants include new signings Nathan Aké, Kojo Oppong, Mason Greenwood and Romelu Lukaku, along with goalkeeper Mert Günok. Günok joined Fenerbahçe from Beşiktaş during last season’s mid-season window but has not yet played against his former club for Fenerbahçe.

Beşiktaş’s 13 players seeking a derby first are Leandro Trossard, Kassoum Ouattara, Alexander Nübel, Ernest Poku, İlhan Fakılı, Fabio Miretti, Salih Özcan, Doğan Alemdar, Dušan Vlahović, Ümit Akdağ, Ahmet Sami Bircan, Taylan Bulut and Yasin Özcan.

İsmail Yüksek is Fenerbahçe’s most experienced player in this fixture, with five appearances across the Süper Lig and Turkish Cup. He has scored once in those matches, in which Fenerbahçe recorded three wins and two defeats. Mert Hakan Yandaş, who remains suspended, has played six derbies for Fenerbahçe.

For Beşiktaş, left-back Rıdvan Yılmaz and winger Milot Rashica have each played five times against Fenerbahçe. Orkun Kökçü and Vaclav Cerny have three appearances each, while several other players have featured once or twice.
