19-year-old fatally stabbed in Sardinia; minor detained

A fatal stabbing in Sardinia has led to the detention of a minor. Simone Concas, 19, died after being stabbed in Bari Sardo on Wednesday. The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute that erupted after Concas allegedly struck a 22-year-old woman with his car.

According to initial investigations, Concas was driving his car around 6 p.m. when he allegedly intentionally hit the woman, who was walking with her boyfriend near the sports field. Concas and the woman knew each other. The woman sustained serious leg injuries and remains hospitalized.

Following the incident, Concas fled the scene but was pursued by the woman's boyfriend and her younger brother. The two reportedly caught up to Concas and fatally stabbed him before fleeing. Authorities have detained the minor, who is the woman's brother, as a suspect in the stabbing. He faces homicide charges and will be transferred to a juvenile facility.
