2. Bundesliga: Dynamo Dresden signs Rapp from Karlsruher SC

Dynamo Dresden has bolstered its squad with the acquisition of Nicolai Rapp from fellow 2. Bundesliga club Karlsruher SC. The defensive midfielder arrives on a free transfer, becoming Dynamo's third new recruit of the transfer window. Rapp is expected to fill the void left by Kofi Amoako, who recently transferred to Hamburger SV.

Rapp's arrival follows Dynamo's earlier signings of Brooklyn Ezeh from Hannover 96 and Kaan Inanoglu from Eintracht Frankfurt. The club has not disclosed the duration of these contracts. Dynamo's sporting director, Sören Gonther, highlighted Rapp's suitability for the team, stating, "Nicolai knows the league extremely well and can give a team the necessary stability with his style of play and also provide important offensive impulses for build-up play."

The 29-year-old Rapp began his youth development at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. He gained significant second-division experience playing for SpVgg Greuther Fürth, FC Erzgebirge Aue, 1. FC Union Berlin, and Darmstadt 98. Rapp also made his Bundesliga debut with Werder Bremen. After a loan spell at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, he joined KSC in 2024. In total, he has played nine Bundesliga matches and 211 games in the 2. Bundesliga.
