2 Days, 2 Warnings: CJP Threatens To Restart Protest If Agitators Face Action

The Centre for Public Interest Litigation (CJP) has issued a stern warning, threatening to reignite protests if individuals involved face any punitive actions. Saurav Das, representing the CJP, stated that the Supreme Court's recent decision, which permits the police to proceed with existing First Information Reports (FIRs) against agitators, has raised significant apprehension.

Das articulated the CJP's fear that the government might exploit this judicial allowance to "weaponize" the legal process against those participating in the protests. This concern highlights a potential for governmental overreach and the misuse of legal mechanisms to suppress dissent.

The CJP's primary demand remains the complete withdrawal of all FIRs registered against the protesters. The organization views these legal actions as a means of intimidation and seeks their unconditional revocation to ensure the safety and freedom of the agitators.
