2026 Fiji, Papua New Guinea Invited Saemaul Education Completion Ceremony Held

The Saemaul Undong Central Association celebrated the conclusion of its 2026 training program for participants from Fiji and Papua New Guinea. The ceremony marked the culmination of an initiative designed to foster the global spread of the Saemaul Undong movement, a development model that originated in South Korea.

Over 40 trainees from Fiji and Papua New Guinea participated in the program, which began on July 21. The curriculum focused on developing strategies and action plans for Saemaul Undong, sharing national success stories, and identifying localized approaches for its sustainable implementation. The goal was to enhance the leadership skills of Saemaul leaders and equip them to drive development in their communities.

Wesley Teine Soko, a civil servant from Papua New Guinea, expressed his gratitude, stating that the principles and practices of Saemaul Undong were remarkably applicable to the challenges faced by his country. He pledged to actively utilize his learnings for the development of his local community upon his return.

Kim Kwang-lim, President of the Saemaul Undong Central Association, addressed the graduates, emphasizing South Korea's own development journey, which was significantly supported by the Saemaul Undong. He encouraged the participants to become key figures in their nations' progress by embodying the Saemaul spirit and successfully implementing a "second Saemaul Undong" in their countries.
