2026 World Cup: Champion team to receive exclusive commemorative rings

The 2026 World Cup final will not only crown a new champion between Spain and Argentina but will also debut an unprecedented prize: personalized commemorative rings for the winning team. FIFA is introducing this tradition, inspired by major U.S. sports leagues, sparking anticipation among fans and collectors.

The final match is set for July 19 at the New Jersey Stadium in New York. The victorious team will lift the trophy and receive a distinction that could become one of football's most valuable pieces. FIFA announced the creation of 2,026 rings, a number chosen to honor the tournament year. Of these, 30 will go to the winning squad members, while the remaining 1,996 will be sold later as official merchandise.

Each ring will boast an exclusive design, featuring the World Cup trophy on one side and elements of the champion's identity, such as their crest and colors, on the other. The pieces will be individually numbered and custom-sized for recipients, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. While FIFA has not yet revealed the materials or manufacturing specifications, experts estimate each ring could be worth around 130,000 euros, making them potentially one of the most economically valuable individual awards in football.
