2027: “Anyone supporting Tinubu has been bribed” — Odumeje alleges

A popular Anambra-based cleric, Chukwuemeka “Odumeje” Ohanaemere, has accused supporters of President Bola Tinubu’s administration of accepting bribes. In a video circulating on social media, the controversial preacher asserted that anyone praising the current government has been paid.

Anyone you see singing praises for the current government is doing so because that person has been bribed if you are coming into government, whether you forced your way in or the people elected you.

Odumeje criticized the president's recent remarks on hunger in Nigeria, alleging that political office holders place their personal and family interests above the welfare of ordinary Nigerians. He stressed that public office holders are merely custodians of the country’s resources and must govern in the people’s interest.

You are there to manage our resources, not your personal business or your family’s business. These are resources that belong to every Nigerian citizen. And yet you tell them they have been hungry.

The cleric urged Nigerians to use the 2027 general election to hold leaders accountable. He argued that politicians representing their constituencies lack conscience for defending Tinubu's statement that hunger existed in Nigeria before his birth. Odumeje insisted that in 2027, Nigerians will determine who truly owns the country – the politicians or all citizens.

In 2027, we shall decide if it’s you, governor or senator, whose family owns Nigeria, or whether all of us own Nigeria. We are no longer boys; we are fathers.

He further stated that politicians exist to serve the people who elected them, not their own or their families' interests. Odumeje expressed a preference for politicians who speak honestly rather than shifting blame. He concluded by suggesting that if leaders have nothing to offer citizens, the country should be divided.
