2027: Fubara says Rivers projects will boost APC campaign

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara declared that the infrastructure projects undertaken by his administration will serve as key assets for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in their campaign for the 2027 general election. Fubara made these remarks on Monday during the official inauguration of the reconstructed Buguma-Degema-Abonnema Road.

The 19.79-kilometer road is a vital transport artery connecting communities across the Asari-Toru, Degema, and Akuku-Toru local government areas. Governor Fubara highlighted that the road's rehabilitation, awarded in September 2024, is expected to significantly curb insecurity and enhance the socio-economic well-being of residents. He noted that the previous state of the road facilitated criminal activities, which he believes will now be curtailed.

He expressed satisfaction that the project was completed within a tight timeframe, fulfilling a personal commitment.

Looking ahead to the election cycle, Fubara emphasized the ease of movement the new road would provide for campaigning. "Very soon, we’ll be going round to campaign for our party. Movement will be easy. When we get there, I can boldly say, ‘Support my candidate, support my party because I have done this, I have done that, and I’m going to do that,’" he said. He also reaffirmed his administration's commitment to completing other significant projects, such as the Trans-Kalabari Highway, and asked for continued public support.
