2027 Hajj: Kwara pilgrims board sets deadline for payments

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board is reminding intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj to finalize all payments and documentation by the September 26, 2026, deadline set by Saudi Arabian authorities. Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, the Executive Secretary of the Board, emphasized that timely completion of these requirements is crucial for visa processing and ensuring participation in the pilgrimage.

Abdulkadir highlighted that delays in payment or documentation have historically led to complications, including visa processing issues and, in some cases, pilgrims being forced to seek refunds. He urged all prospective pilgrims to adhere to the deadline to avoid such unnecessary hurdles.

The Saudi Arabian authorities have fixed September 26, 2026, as the deadline for payment and documentation for the 2027 Hajj. We therefore urge all intending pilgrims to complete the process early and avoid unnecessary delays.

Looking ahead to the 2027 Hajj, the Board is committed to enhancing the pilgrimage experience for Kwara State pilgrims. Abdulkadir stated that efforts are underway to improve accommodation, welfare services, and overall coordination, aiming to build upon the successes of the 2026 Hajj exercise. Preparations include plans for early airlift operations using larger capacity aircraft to ensure a smoother journey.

Additionally, Abdulkadir clarified a point regarding Personal Travelling Allowances for the 2024 Hajj. He explained that while the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) approved and disbursed $400 per pilgrim, an additional $100 received by some was a personal donation from Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq during a farewell ceremony, not part of the official allowance.
