2027: Ondo senator urges aggrieved APC members to embrace reconciliation, unity

Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North Senatorial District, has called for unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, urging members to accept the results of the party's primary election. The primary has been a source of contention, leading to protests in Akure by party members dissatisfied with the National Working Committee's list of candidates for the National Assembly election. Protesters claim the list does not accurately reflect the primary outcomes. In a statement, Ipinsagba stressed the importance of reconciliation and collective effort ahead of the 2027 general election. He believes the primary results should unite APC members to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election and the party's candidates for legislative positions. "I want to appeal to all our party members across Ondo North Senatorial District and Ondo State in general to close ranks, embrace reconciliation, and work collectively towards securing greater victories for our great party in future elections," Ipinsagba stated. He highlighted the need for unity to face upcoming presidential, National Assembly, and state House of Assembly elections, emphasizing that unity is crucial for sustained electoral success and delivering democratic dividends. The senator also commended President Tinubu for his leadership in the nomination process, viewing it as a testament to his commitment to democracy and fairness.
