2027: PDP chieftain targets 90% Ekiti votes for Tinubu

A Peoples Democratic Party chieftain in Ekiti State says winning 90% of the state’s registered votes for President Bola Tinubu in 2027 is an achievable target.

Oluwole Oluyede, the PDP’s candidate in the June 20 Ekiti governorship election, said he had activated the Oluyede Progressive Alliance for Renewed Hope Agenda after returning from a two-week holiday. He urged PDP, All Progressives Congress and other political supporters who share his vision for Ekiti and Nigeria to join the effort.

I believe President Bola Tinubu deserves a second term. Nigeria cannot continue to start all over again every four years. If we have begun a process of reform, we must allow that process to mature and consolidate.

Oluyede said Tinubu deserved a second term because Nigeria should not restart its political and reform process every four years. He said allowing the reforms to mature and consolidate required continuity.

We are going to the people. We are going to mobilise. OPARHA will take the message to every door, every household, every ward and every community.

The mobilization campaign will cover Ekiti’s 16 local government areas, 177 wards, communities and households. Oluyede said OPARHA would explain why he believes Tinubu deserves another term and allow voters to make an informed decision.

He also expressed readiness to work with Governor Biodun Oyebanji and other stakeholders. Oluyede said the 90% goal was not only about winning an election, but also about building a political bridge among different groups in Ekiti and strengthening relations between the state and federal governments. He rejected suggestions that his holiday after the June 20, 2026 governorship election meant he had left politics.
