26 Million Students Begin the School Year in a Special Nationwide Ceremony

Vietnam’s new school year began with a nationwide ceremony linking more than 26 million students to the inauguration of 107 combined-level boarding schools in mainland border communes. The ceremony took place from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. on September 5, using both in-person and online connections.

Schools across the country carried out the flag salute, national anthem and opening drum ceremony at the same time as the central event at Muong Khuong Boarding School in Lao Cai province. Each province and city arranged a main connection point with the central location.

Vice Principal Vy Duc Tuan said the school has 36 classes and about 1,260 students, including 16 primary-level classes. The nearly 400 billion dong investment includes 12 modern buildings, an administrative block, sports hall, swimming pool and rooms for information technology, foreign languages and the arts.
