30th Terezijana Festival Opens in Bjelovar, Celebrating Continental Croatia's Largest Event

Bjelovar is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Terezijana, Croatia's largest tourist and cultural event in the continental region. The festival, which runs for a record 12 days until June 28, officially opened with a ceremony attended by Gordan Jandroković, the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament.

Jandroković lauded Terezijana's transformation from a modest local event into a major regional attraction. He expressed admiration for the scale of the festival, noting that organizing 50 concerts and extensive gastronomic offerings within 12 days is remarkable, even for cities much larger than Bjelovar. "It's a bit unbelievable to me, and truly with great pride and admiration, I look at this success," he stated before declaring the 30th Terezijana open.

Terezijana started 30 years ago as a local event, a folk celebration, and no one could have predicted that after 30 years it would become one of the largest and most recognizable events in continental Croatia.

The opening night featured a documentary film, "Terezijana – 30 years of an imperial story," followed by a "Broadway in Bjelovar" concert. The festival's program includes performances by prominent artists such as Petar Grašo, Severina, Alen Islamović with Bijelo Dugme, Baby Lasagna, and Käärijä, among many others performing across three stages.

Beyond the musical performances, attendees can experience the Imperial Procession and the Imperial Military Ball. The city will also host various gastro festivals throughout the event. The 30th Terezijana aims to provide a rich cultural and entertainment experience, showcasing the growth and significance of this long-standing Bjelovar tradition.
