33rd Festival of European Film Palić opens with "Aleksandar Lifka" award ceremony

The 33rd Festival of European Film Palić commenced with a formal opening ceremony at the Palić Summer Stage, marked by the presentation of the "Aleksandar Lifka" award to acclaimed filmmaker Kornel Mundruczó, recognized as a foreign creator.

Following the celebratory ceremony, the festival's main competition program officially began with the screening of "Great Absence," a German film directed by Simon Verhoeven. Later in the evening, the program continued with "The Good Daughter" from Spain, directed by Julia de Pas, which explores the dynamics of three generations of women.

Attendees can anticipate a continued lineup of compelling cinema. The main competition will feature "Like at Home" by Hungarian director Gabor Holloi, followed by "Nino in Paradise" from Belgian director Laurent Micheli. These screenings are scheduled to take place on July 19th at the Palić Summer Stage.

The festival is set to run until July 22nd, hosting its primary film screenings at the Palić Summer Stage and the Abazija cinema. In addition to the film program, the event will also include the presentation of "Aleksandar Lifka" awards.
