40-degree heat will return to Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is bracing for a period of volatile weather as forecasters predict the return of intense heat alongside thunderstorms, hail, and dust storms. The unstable conditions are attributed to an active cyclone and atmospheric frontal systems moving across the country.

From July 4 to July 6, most regions will experience continued unsettled weather. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in the northwest on July 4, spreading to the southeast and central regions on July 4-5, and eastern Kazakhstan on July 5-6. The northern part of the republic is also expected to see rain throughout the entire period. Strong winds, hail, and squalls are forecast nationwide. Southern Kazakhstan will likely face dust storms, while the north can expect fog during the night and early morning hours.

Despite the precipitation, temperatures are set to climb significantly. By July 5-6, western and central Kazakhstan could see daytime highs between 35-39°C. The southwest is forecast to reach up to 40°C, and the northwest up to 35°C. Eastern Kazakhstan will experience persistent intense heat, with temperatures ranging from 35-37°C throughout the period.
