401st Brigade ends eight-month southern Lebanon mission after destroying 1,200 Hezbollah sites

Soldiers from the 401st Brigade have completed an eight-month mission in southern Lebanon, during which they destroyed 1,200 Hezbollah structures, the IDF announced Sunday. The "Iron Tracks" Brigade focused on defensive operations along the border and offensive actions within the security zone, seizing weapons, destroying hundreds of meters of tunnels, and dismantling terrorist infrastructure.

During their deployment, the troops killed more than 60 Hezbollah terrorists and located over 600 weapons, including RPG rockets, anti-tank missiles, machine guns, and Kalashnikov rifles. The mission was not without cost, as four soldiers from the 52nd battalion died on June 21 when Hezbollah struck a tank in southern Lebanon. At the same time, we immediately regroup and remain focused on completing the mission to ensure that their sacrifice was not in vain," Schneider stated.

The IDF reported that its activities in the region were aimed at protecting Israeli troops and civilians following renewed rocket and drone attacks by Hezbollah in March.
