45.7 Million Visitors Boost Saudi Arabia's Entertainment Sector

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Kingdom's entertainment sector experienced a surge in activity, drawing 45.7 million visitors during the first six months of 2026. This growth is attributed to the General Entertainment Authority's (GEA) ongoing efforts to refine the regulatory framework governing the industry.

GEA has implemented a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing sector efficiency, improving service quality, and bolstering the experience for both investors and visitors. These measures align with the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to cultivate a sustainable and attractive entertainment economy. The authority reported issuing more than 2,500 licenses for entertainment activities and supporting businesses, reflecting the sector's rapid expansion and increasing investment volume.

To ensure adherence to standards and maintain confidence, GEA conducted over 8,500 compliance inspections across the Kingdom. Furthermore, the authority streamlined processes by collaborating with 29 government entities, simplifying procedures for investors and fostering a more agile governance structure. GEA also issued 1,127 classification certificates to elevate service quality and standardize benchmarks.

The sector's robust performance is further evidenced by the presence of over 7,200 companies operating within it. GEA also provided tools for over 400 investors to measure visitor experience, enabling data-driven decisions to enhance offerings and investment efficiency. Comprehensive visitor satisfaction and experience reports, numbering over 900, were also prepared.
