49ers owner Jed York pleads no contest to reduced charges after prostitution arrest

San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York has pleaded no contest to reduced charges in Ohio, following his arrest on suspicion of engaging in prostitution. Prosecutors amended the initial charge to misdemeanor disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools as part of a plea deal. Reports suggest the "criminal tool" in York's possession was a cell phone used to respond to a prostitution advertisement.

York, 46, was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio. Court documents revealed that agents from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force intercepted communications where York responded to a prostitution website. As part of the agreement, York was sentenced to one day in the Columbiana County Jail for each count, receiving credit for time served during his Sunday arrest. He was also ordered to pay a fine of $1,150.

Beyond his ownership of the NFL's 49ers, York also holds partial ownership in UK football clubs Leeds Football Club and Rangers Football Club. As of Monday afternoon, the NFL had not issued a comment regarding the matter, though owners are subject to the league's personal conduct policy. York, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, has served as CEO of the 49ers since December 2008 and as the team's principal owner since 2024.
