70-year prison sentence for four kidnappers in San Diego de la Unión, Guanajuato; they demanded money and vehicles for ransom

A court in Guanajuato has handed down a 70-year prison sentence to four men convicted of aggravated kidnapping. Javier “N”, Fredy Osman “N”, José Gabino “N”, and Sergio “N” were found guilty of forcibly abducting a woman and demanding a substantial ransom for her release.

The incident occurred on November 30, 2022, when the victim was inside a business in the central area of San Diego de la Unión. The four men arrived in two pickup trucks, entered a warehouse within the property, subdued several people, and forced the woman into one of the vehicles. She was then taken to a location in the southern part of the state.

At the clandestine location, the victim was forced to record a message for her family, detailing the ransom demands. The kidnappers ultimately received a large sum of money and two vehicles in exchange for freeing the woman. After obtaining the ransom, the criminals abandoned the victim in a rural community.

Further investigation by the State Attorney General's Office revealed that one of the vehicles used in the crime, which also had a stolen vehicle report, was recovered in 2023. This discovery was crucial in developing the case and strengthening the identification and involvement of the perpetrators. The prosecution successfully presented evidence to the court, proving the men's participation in the crime.
