74% of 2030 party members... 'Democratic Party doesn't listen to youth voices'

A significant portion of the Democratic Party's younger members feel unheard and disconnected from the party's leadership and direction. A recent online survey conducted by the party's preparatory committee for its national convention revealed that 74% of 2030 members believe the Democratic Party does not genuinely listen to the voices of young people.

The dissatisfaction extends to the party's internal processes and policy focus. When asked if the party involves young people in decision-making, 70% of respondents answered negatively. The same percentage felt the party does not understand and reflect young people's lives in its policies. Furthermore, 69% of young members believe the party does not admit and correct its mistakes, while 60% feel it does not consistently follow through on its promises.

These sentiments were echoed in 5,670 anonymous suggestions submitted by young members. Criticisms targeted major reforms pushed by the party, with one respondent from Seoul in their 30s stating, "Just admit when you're wrong." Another, a 20-something from Seoul, expressed weariness with "prosecution reform," while a 30-something from North Jeolla Province commented, "Policies aren't just about judicial reform." Concerns about "real estate stabilization" were also raised by a respondent from Gyeonggi Province in their 30s.
