80s TVB Star Chen Mian-er Dies at 65; Felix Wong Mourns Loss of Co-star

Chen Mian-er, a prominent actress from Hong Kong's TVB in the 1980s and the widow of the late actor Richard Ng, has died at the age of 65. Her sons confirmed her peaceful passing, stating that a private service will be held for close friends and family.

Fellow actor Felix Wong, who starred alongside Chen in numerous classic dramas, expressed his grief. He mentioned learning of her hospitalization and that she was in a coma. Wong recalled their frequent collaborations, particularly their iconic roles as a couple in the 1986 historical drama "The Legend of Xue Dingshan," where he played Xue Dingshan and she portrayed Fan Lihua.

I last saw Mian-er half a year ago. She was in good spirits and told jokes that day. Life is truly unpredictable.

Wong also reminisced about their earlier work together in the 1981 drama "The Passing" and the 1980s series "Wind, Rain, Sunshine." He shared that he last saw Chen six months prior, noting she was in good spirits and joking, reflecting on the unpredictability of life. The news of her death marks the end of a significant era for Hong Kong television.
