83 large acacia trees planted in Bishkek ahead of SCO summit

Bishkek is enhancing its urban landscape with the planting of 83 large acacia trees along Zhaiyl Baatyr Street, a key preparation for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. The initiative is part of ongoing city improvement efforts.

The municipal enterprise Bishkekzelenstroy managed the planting, utilizing trees with closed root systems to ensure successful transplantation. The project included lowering the soil level on the central divider and installing a modern irrigation system to guarantee the trees' proper care and long-term survival.

To safeguard the young trees from potential damage by strong winds and to improve their stability, the acacia trunks have been wrapped in burlap and secured with special ties. These measures aim to ensure the trees establish well and contribute to the city's aesthetic appeal.

Following the tree planting, the area is slated for further landscaping. This will include the addition of lawns and annual flowers, alongside other improvement works, to create a more welcoming and visually appealing environment for summit attendees and residents alike.
