9th Antalya Akra Jazz Festival Kicks Off Tomorrow

The 9th Antalya Akra Jazz Festival is set to commence with a performance by Turkish pop artist Kenan Doğulu, who will present his pop-jazz project "İhtimaller" on June 5. This year's festival promises a rich program, highlighting the fusion of contemporary jazz with various global music genres.

Attendees can anticipate performances from four Grammy-winning artists. The lineup includes Russian jazz ambassador Igor Butman with the Moscow Jazz Orchestra and singer Sergey Mazayev on June 6. Later in the festival, five-time Grammy winner Dianne Reeves will perform on June 10, followed by Grammy and BRIT award-winning soul and R&B artist Joss Stone on June 12.

Further highlights include Grammy-winning saxophonist Kenny Garrett with his "Sounds From The Ancestors" project on June 13. The festival will also feature the "Richard Bona & Alfredo Rodriguez Trio" on June 17, showcasing Afro-Cuban and Latin jazz. The "Akra Young Jazz" concert on June 18 will present SU Trio, Leviers, and Mojo 5. The festival will conclude with acclaimed pianist and composer Fazıl Say performing special repertoire arrangements of songs and jazz on June 19 and 20, accompanied by flutist Aslıhan And Say, vocalist Seda Kırankaya, and percussionist Aykut Köselerli.
