Đà Nẵng People's Council Opens New Term, Focuses on Removing Development Obstacles

The city of Đà Nẵng has officially commenced its new legislative term with the opening of the first session of the 11th City People's Council. This pivotal meeting, held on April 14th, is dedicated to the crucial task of electing the key leadership that will guide the city's governance for the next five years (2026-2031). The significance of this session lies not only in the formalization of the government structure but also in setting the tone and foundation for the council's operational methods, policy-making quality, and accountability to the populace throughout its tenure.

Speaking at the opening, Mr. Lê Ngọc Quang, Secretary of the Đà Nẵng City Party Committee, highlighted the success of the recent elections, describing them as a true "day of celebration for the entire nation." He underscored that the elections were conducted democratically, legally, safely, and economically, ensuring the appropriate structure, composition, and quality of delegates. This successful electoral process, he noted, has laid a robust political and social foundation for Đà Nẵng as it embarks on a new phase of development.

Secretary Quang stressed that the People's Council, while a state authority at the local level, must fundamentally serve as the voice of the people. It must be a body that is close to, understands, and acts for the benefit of the citizens. Every policy and decision made by the city, regardless of its scale, must ultimately aim for the highest goal: ensuring that the people reap the rewards of development. When the people's voices are heard, their aspirations are truthfully reflected, and policies stem from the realities of daily life, the council's strength, the government's effectiveness, and the people's trust will all be significantly consolidated.
