A ruthless Barcelona leave no room for surprises

Barcelona did not leave room for surprises at Sevilla’s Jesús Navas stadium. They accelerated at the start and end of the first half, settling the match before the break and securing their position at the top of Liga F.

Brugts opened the scoring in the ninth minute, before Claudia Pina and Marta Torrejón struck in added time. Caroline Graham Hansen drove the attack from the right, repeatedly unbalancing Sevilla with her runs. Her assists set up both of the first two goals.

Pere Romeu, marking his 100th match, selected one of the most attack-minded lineups available to him. Vicky López and Pina, both capable of playing in the forward line, operated in midfield alongside Schertenleib. Graham Hansen, Pajor and Kerolin formed the front three, with the Brazilian making her first start.

Torrejón made it 3-0 with a header at the far post after Graham Hansen delivered a corner and Pajor flicked it on. Vicky López scored the fourth with a right-footed strike after Pajor pressed in the area. Young players Lúa, Elena and debutant Martina González also saw action. Lúa appealed for a penalty after a shirt pull prevented her from finishing another Graham Hansen cross, but a review found no offense.

Barcelona scored 130 goals last season and already have nine in the first two rounds of the 2026-27 Liga F campaign. Atlético will visit on Saturday for the season’s first major match, which will also mark Jenni Hermoso’s return to the Johan Cruyff stadium.
