Aalborg Håndbold Advances to DM Final After Semifinal Win

Aalborg Håndbold has advanced to the DM final, becoming the first team to secure a place after defeating Mors-Thy 37-35 in the second semifinal match. This victory follows Aalborg's dominant performance in the first semifinal earlier in the week, where they secured a commanding 40-21 win over Mors-Thy. While the second match was more closely contested, Aalborg's star players delivered in the second half to clinch their spot in the championship game.

Mors-Thy demonstrated why they reached the final four, showing significant improvement from their first semifinal encounter. The home team came out strong, fueled by a roaring crowd and led by playmaker Victor Norlyk. Goalkeeper Svend Rughave also had a strong start, making seven saves within the first seven minutes. Trailing 4-8, Aalborg's coach, Simon Dahl, called a timeout that seemed to rally the team, as they responded with five consecutive goals to neutralize Mors-Thy's early lead.

The game continued at a high tempo, with Aalborg finding offensive solutions but struggling defensively against Mors-Thy's quick attacks. Despite their goalkeeping duo's lack of saves at halftime (18-18), Aalborg's performance improved significantly in the second half. Although Aalborg's playmaker Thomas Arnoldsen had to leave the game due to a shoulder injury, Mads Hoxer stepped up. Hoxer was sharp in his shooting and duels, and with saves from goalkeeper Landin, Aalborg established a three-goal lead for the first time. Increased mobility and faster footwork in Aalborg's defense allowed them to gain better control and score easy transition goals, ultimately sealing their place in the final.
