Abia State links reform drive to investor confidence

Abia State's ongoing governance and development reforms are strengthening public confidence and drawing wider attention, particularly as Nigeria marked its Democracy Day, according to Jerome Green-Amakwe, the governor's Special Adviser on Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnerships.

He highlighted that Abia now serves as a notable example of democratic leadership producing tangible results, fostering increased confidence among its citizens regarding the state's future.

The period was marked by widespread concerns over infrastructure, public services, and economic growth, prompting increasing calls for a new direction in governance. That turning point came with the election of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, and his deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE.

He recalled that prior to 2023, Abia faced significant developmental hurdles, including infrastructure deficits and concerns over public services and economic growth. The election of Governor Alex Otti marked a turning point, ushering in reforms centered on transparency, accountability, and effective service delivery. Green-Amakwe also acknowledged the crucial role of supporters, stakeholders, and grassroots mobilizers whose dedication laid the foundation for the administration's transformative movement.

The journey to political victory, however, was neither accidental nor effortless. Long before the 2023 elections, a dedicated coalition of supporters, stakeholders, and grassroots mobilisers remained steadfast in their conviction that a better Abia was possible.
