Abierto de Los Cabos Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Top Talent, Mexican Doubles Pair

The Abierto de Los Cabos is gearing up for its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of professional tennis in the popular Mexican resort destination. This year's tournament will feature a notable pairing of Mexican talent: Rodrigo Pacheco and Santiago González will team up for the first time in the doubles category.

This dynamic duo aims to leverage their combined experience and youth to contend for the ATP 250 title. Pacheco, a rising star, will also compete in the singles main draw, having received a wildcard. He will face a strong field that includes last year's champion, Denis Shapovalov, and other top players.

There are many players who have never set foot in Mexico. So, having them makes this edition extremely special. These are players who are at a very good level of tennis. And in addition, others who already know the tournament are added. Which makes it very attractive.

The tournament boasts an impressive lineup of talent, with several players ranked within the ATP Top 45. Spectators can look forward to seeing Jiří Lehečka, Luciano Darderi, Karen Khachanov, Francisco Cerúndolo, Cameron Norrie, and Rafael Jódar compete. Tournament director José Antonio Fernández highlighted the significance of attracting players who have never visited Mexico before, alongside those familiar with the event, making this edition particularly special and attractive.

In a move to support emerging talent, the Abierto de Los Cabos has granted a wildcard to French player Moïse Kouamé, who recently reached the third round of Roland Garros. Established names like Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov will also participate via a wildcard. Fernández described the tournament's environment as uniquely structured and organic, offering a high-quality product in a stunning setting, where players have everything they need nearby and attendees are respectful.

The main draw matches are scheduled from July 27 to August 1, with qualifying rounds taking place on July 25 and 26, offering free admission to fans. Fernández expressed satisfaction with the tournament's consistent growth over the years, celebrating it as a "100 percent Mexican tournament."
