Abiodun hails IG, Ogun, Lagos police CPs over joint security initiative

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has lauded the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Olatunji Disu, for launching "Operation Kosaye," a joint security initiative between Ogun and Lagos states. Abiodun described the operation as a proactive, intelligence-driven effort that has significantly enhanced security across the two neighboring states. He highlighted its remarkable successes, including combing forests and criminal hideouts, neutralizing bandits, arresting suspects, and rescuing kidnap victims. The governor stated that these coordinated actions have restored public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force and reinforced the commitment of security agencies to protecting lives and property. Abiodun emphasized that the sustained offensive has made Ogun and Lagos increasingly hostile to criminals attempting to use the shared border as a haven. He pledged the state government's continued support through logistics, operational resources, and technology to bolster policing efforts. The governor also commended the Commissioners of Police in Ogun and Lagos states, along with the participating officers, for their professionalism and dedication. Abiodun noted that "Operation Kosaye" demonstrates the effectiveness of collaboration and intelligence sharing across state boundaries in tackling security threats. He urged other states to adopt similar frameworks and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to prioritizing the protection of lives and property through sustained investment in security infrastructure and technology.
