Abiodun’s leadership is attracting investment and transforming Ogun, Akinmade says

Governor Dapo Abiodun’s leadership has transformed Ogun State’s development path and strengthened its appeal to investors, according to his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade.

Speaking to reporters in Abeokuta on Sunday, Akinmade attributed the state’s growing attraction to what he described as purposeful governance, political maturity, infrastructure development and a stable, business-friendly environment. He said the administration had pursued its agenda with passion, discipline, integrity and focus despite political and economic challenges.

Akinmade highlighted Abiodun’s ability to maintain peace while carrying out development programs. In his account, that stability has strengthened investor confidence and created opportunities for businesses, residents and communities. “Governor Abiodun plays politics without acrimony. He understands that political differences should not be allowed to destroy relationships, communities or the larger society,” he said.

He also pointed to the distribution of development across Ogun’s three senatorial districts. Projects have covered roads and other critical infrastructure, healthcare, education, housing, agriculture, youth development and social interventions. Among the initiatives he listed were the Gateway International Airport, road construction and rehabilitation, housing projects, the 108-unit Mohammed Buhari Estate, the Gateway Medical Centre of Excellence, the Onijanganjangan Power Project and the reconstruction of the MKO Abiola Sports Arena.

Akinmade said these projects, together with the administration’s economic policies, had strengthened Ogun’s industrial base and its ability to attract and retain investors. “The governor understands that investors need stability, predictability and an environment where businesses can operate with confidence,” he said. “That is why Ogun State is increasingly being regarded as a destination for investment, enterprise and economic opportunities.”
