Abiodun saves Buhari Estate, Abeokuta from forfeiture, delivers 108 homes

Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has successfully rescued the Muhammadu Buhari Estate in Abeokuta from a potential forfeiture, transforming the previously stalled project into a modern residential community of 108 homes. The estate is slated for commissioning by First Lady Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu.

The Abiodun administration inherited the estate in a significantly underdeveloped state, with only infrastructure awarded and a single model building completed. The project had become entangled in a legal dispute concerning unpaid obligations to the contractor, placing the property at risk of legal seizure. The administration intervened, settling the dispute amicably and securing the state's interest in the property.

Instead of abandoning the inherited project, the state adopted a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Under this arrangement, the state provided the land and infrastructure, while private developers managed the construction and sale of the housing units. This collaboration has led to the completion of the PMB Estate, which includes 108 fully detached and semi-detached four-bedroom duplexes.

The development boasts modern architecture and high-quality infrastructure, including well-lit roads, landscaped green spaces, water supply, waste management, a sports center, and a children's playground. Security is enhanced by a 24-hour power supply and a gated community setup. Governor Abiodun emphasized that this project underscores his administration's commitment to protecting public investments and completing inherited projects, positioning the PMB Estate as a blueprint for future public-private housing initiatives in Ogun State.
