Abu Dhabi launches free visa offer for Indian tourists

Abu Dhabi has launched a new initiative to attract more Indian tourists by offering complimentary United Arab Emirates entry visas. The program, introduced by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), targets Indian passport holders who book holidays through specific participating travel partners.

Running from August 1 to October 31, 2026, the initiative requires travelers to book a minimum three-night stay in Abu Dhabi. DCT Abu Dhabi will cover the full cost of the UAE entry visas for these eligible bookings. This move aims to reduce the upfront cost of travel and provide travel partners with added value to offer their customers.

Abdulla Yousuf, Director of International Operations at DCT Abu Dhabi, highlighted India's importance as a key international market. "India continues to be one of our most important international markets, and we remain committed to working closely with our travel partners to make Abu Dhabi even more accessible for Indian travellers," Yousuf stated. He added that covering visa costs simplifies the decision for Indian travelers and gives partners a compelling reason to promote the destination.

The program is available for Indian passport holders departing from India, provided they book an Abu Dhabi holiday package including a minimum of three consecutive nights in an Abu Dhabi hotel and a return flight. Participating travel partners can either work with a DCT-appointed Destination Management Company (DMC), with DCT Abu Dhabi covering costs directly, or use their existing DMCs and receive reimbursement for visa expenses. The initiative initially aims to support up to 20,000 visas during its pilot phase, forming part of broader efforts to strengthen air connectivity and expand partnerships within the Indian market.
