AC overnight costs less than one euro, technician demonstrates in viral experiment

Carlos Llull, an air conditioning technician and social media influencer, has debunked the myth that running an air conditioner all night is prohibitively expensive. In a viral video, Llull demonstrated that it's possible to sleep with the AC on for less than one euro.

Llull's experiment was prompted by skepticism from his followers after a previous post claimed the same outcome. To provide concrete evidence, he used a portable electricity consumption meter, available for under 10 euros, connected directly to his AC unit. He clarified that this method works for units plugged into an outlet, but users should check their specific setup.

The technician tested a conventional 15-year-old split-type AC unit, approximately 2,500 frigorías. After running it for eight consecutive hours overnight, the meter showed a cost of just 0.32 euros for the energy consumed. This was well below the one-euro mark many people assumed.

Despite these factors, he concluded that the energy cost remained significantly lower than the commonly feared one-euro threshold.
