Acclaimed Play 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' to Premiere in Buenos Aires

The acclaimed play "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" is set to premiere in Buenos Aires on June 18 at the Teatro Maipo. This new production is helmed by Carla Calabrese, who also directed the play when it first arrived in Argentina in April 2019.

Inspired by Mark Haddon's bestselling novel, the play tells the story of Christopher, an intelligent teenager with a unique perspective on the world. While Christopher can explain complex theories and loves Sherlock Holmes, he struggles with social interactions, dislikes metaphors, and is sensitive to physical contact and the color yellow. His life takes a turn when he investigates the mysterious death of his neighbor's dog, a journey that leads him to profound discoveries about himself, his family, and his surroundings.

The 2019 production received positive reviews and audience reception, but its planned extended run was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, under Calabrese's production and direction, the play returns to the Buenos Aires stage with a promise of enhanced artistic and technological elements. The cast includes Iñaki Aldao, Mela Lenoir, and Andrés Bagg in leading roles, supported by a company of seventeen actors.
