Actor James Handy, 81, fatally stabbed at home; girlfriend's son arrested

Veteran actor James Handy, who appeared in films like "Jumanji" and "Top Gun: Maverick," has died at the age of 81. Handy was found with a stab wound to his chest in the front yard of his Los Angeles home on June 3.

Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, but he was pronounced dead. The Los Angeles Police Department arrested Michael Gledhill, 44, Handy's girlfriend's son, at the scene on suspicion of murder. Gledhill reportedly told officers that he was the person they were looking for.

Gledhill had been living with his mother at Handy's residence. The motive for the alleged attack remains under investigation. Police responded to a call reporting the killing of a "man of sin," a phrase sometimes used in the Bible to refer to Jesus Christ.

Handy's career spanned numerous roles in film and television, including "Logan" and the series "NCIS." His agency remembered him as a "talented, humble, and dignified client and friend."
