Actor Kim Seung-soo Recounts Near-Blindness from Severe Shingles Attack

South Korean actor Kim Seung-soo has shared the harrowing experience of suffering from shingles that covered his entire face, leading to a terrifying brush with vision loss. Appearing on the SBS show 'My Little Old Boy' ('Miun Uri Saekki'), Kim recounted the intense physical agony and the critical danger to his eyesight.

Kim Seung-soo described the pain as excruciating, likening it to the sensation of a fork being "stuck and scratched" into his face. The outbreak of shingles, a viral infection causing a painful rash, spread across his entire facial area, causing significant distress and fear.

The actor's health scare occurred prior to the commencement of a drama he was set to film. His colleague, Kim Hyung-mook, expressed concern over Kim Seung-soo's usual neglect of health management and took it upon himself to intervene, highlighting the severity of the situation and the actor's vulnerability.
