Actor Kwak Si-yang Announces Marriage to Former Lovelyz Member Yoo Ji-ae After Year-Long Private Romance

A quiet romance in South Korea’s entertainment industry has led to a wedding announcement. Actor Kwak Si-yang and Yoo Ji-ae, a former member of Lovelyz, said through their agencies that they will marry on Nov. 28 after dating for about a year.

The couple had never been photographed together, making the announcement a surprise. Their agencies, 9ato Entertainment and KPLUS, said the two decided to build a future together on the basis of deep trust and affection.

The wedding will also remain private. Only the couple’s families, relatives and close friends will attend.

Kwak Si-yang began his career as a model and made his formal acting debut in the 2014 film “Night Flight.” He later became known for roles in “Oh My Ghost,” “Second to Last Love,” “Alice,” “Lovers of the Red Sky,” “Café Minamdang” and “The Auditors.” His work is continuing alongside the marriage news. He is due to appear as the head of a law firm in the KBS2 weekend miniseries “Not Your Love,” which premieres on the 12th.

Yoo Ji-ae first drew attention in 2010 after appearing on INFINITE’s reality program “INFINITE! My Brother.” She released the solo single “Delight” in 2013 and officially debuted as a member of Lovelyz the following year.

After moving away from the group’s main activities, Yoo Ji-ae turned toward acting. Her credits include “The Escape of the Seven,” “The Third Marriage” and the films “Windmill” and “4:44.” The announcement marks a new personal chapter while both performers continue developing their careers.
