Actress Antonija Stanišić Šperanda, known for 'Zauvijek susjedi,' turns 50

Antonija Stanišić Šperanda, widely recognized for her portrayal of psychiatrist Izabela Jurić - Bela in the popular Croatian comedy series 'Zauvijek susjedi,' is marking her 50th birthday. Despite her significant role in the beloved show, Stanišić Šperanda has largely focused on a prolific theater career rather than frequent television appearances.

Since becoming a freelance artist in 2004, she has been a permanent member of the Gavella Theatre ensemble in Zagreb since 2006. There, she has performed in approximately thirty different productions, showcasing her dedication to the stage. Her recent public appearances include a role in a music video for the klapa Kampanel and a current performance in the play 'Susjedi,' directed by Ljubomir Kerekeš, which draws inspiration from the very series that brought her widespread fame.

Beyond her acting career, Stanišić Šperanda possesses a diverse educational background, holding three university degrees. After graduating from high school in 1994, she pursued a degree in management at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality in Opatija, concurrently studying at the Higher School of Art and Design in Zagreb, where she completed her painting degree in 1997. She later enrolled in the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, graduating in 2004 while also completing her hotel management degree in 2000. During her studies in Opatija, she also became proficient in three foreign languages.

Her career also includes a role in the short film 'Trenuci izazova' (Moments of Challenge), which received five nominations at the Film Fest International in Nice, including one for Stanišić Šperanda herself in the Best Actress category for a foreign film. Additionally, she hosted the children's program 'Žutokljunac' on HTV for four years and lent her voice to numerous animated film characters.
