Actress Jasna Žalica: From 'Lud, zbunjen, normalan' fame to a new look and career reflections

Jasna Žalica, the 58-year-old Bosnian actress widely recognized for her portrayal of the housekeeper Šefika in the hit series 'Lud, zbunjen, normalan,' has captured audience affection with her role.

Although her career spans three decades with numerous significant projects, it was her character in the Fazlinović family's home that endeared her to the public. In this role, she was frequently the target of witty remarks from Izet Fazlinović, memorably played by the late Mustafa Nadarević.

Žalica departed the series after 36 episodes, seeking other professional opportunities that were more appealing at the time. However, she later decided to return, a move that surprised viewers with her significantly altered appearance, including short, blonde hair, a departure from her previous long, dark style.

Reflecting on her collaboration with Nadarević, Žalica described him as an artist who inspired many to pursue acting and a constant source of learning. She remembered him as a true gentleman and friend, with whom working on set felt natural and imbued with a sense of long-standing camaraderie. She expressed great happiness at having the chance to work with him again before the show's production permanently ceased due to the pandemic and Nadarević's passing.

Beyond her television success, Žalica has delivered acclaimed performances in films such as 'Gori vatra,' 'Kod amidže Idriza,' and 'Takva su pravila,' solidifying her status as a respected actress in the region. She also contributes to the arts as a professor at the Sarajevo Academy of Performing Arts and enjoys a private life with her husband, director Pjer Žalica, with whom she has a son, Ismar.
