Actress Moon Geun-young joins SBS 'Uri Deul-ui Ballad 2' as first female 'Top 100 Representative'

Actress Moon Geun-young, who recently announced her surprise marriage, is set to join SBS's audition project 'Uri Deul-ui Ballad 2'. According to SBS, Moon will appear as a "Top 100 Representative" in the show, scheduled to premiere in October. This is the first time a female actress has taken on this role in the program.

Known as an avid follower of music audition shows, Moon Geun-young is expected by the production team to bring her unique empathy to the contestants' stories and music. The first season of 'Uri Deul-ui Ballad' achieved significant success, topping the 2049 viewership ratings, entering Netflix's Top 10 Korean series, and accumulating over 100 million online views. It also won the Grand Prize in the Entertainment/Variety TV category at the 39th Korea Broadcasting Awards.

The second season, which begins its first recording in August, has seen a nearly threefold increase in applications compared to the previous year. The average age of participants has also decreased to 17.9 years. The show is a joint production between SBS and SM C&C.
