Adıyaman journalist dies in traffic accident

Journalist Harun Yumrutepe, 47, died after the car he was driving overturned on a roadside in Çelikhan district of Adıyaman.

The vehicle, bearing registration plate 33 D 6953, left the road after Yumrutepe lost control. People at the scene alerted the authorities, and police, firefighters and medical teams were dispatched.

Firefighters removed Yumrutepe, who had been trapped in the car and suffered serious injuries, before handing him to medical personnel. An ambulance took him to hospital, but he died despite doctors’ efforts.

His body was taken to the mortuary at Adıyaman Training and Research Hospital for an autopsy. Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident.
