ADC reps aspirant, supporters join APC in Kebbi

A former House of Representatives aspirant, Alhaji Bashar Geda, has officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State. He brought along thousands of supporters and party executives from the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC). The defection occurred on Saturday at Nasarawa I Ward, where APC leaders formally welcomed the new entrants. The APC State Chairman, represented by Alhaji Shehu Idris, described the move as a significant boost to the party. He assured the defectors of fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities within the APC.

Geda explained that his decision to leave the ADC was driven by the developmental progress witnessed under Governor Nasir Idris across Kebbi State. He stated that the governor's performance convinced him and his supporters to align with the APC and contribute to the administration's success. "I have seen the good work you have done for the people of Kebbi State," Geda said, pledging his support.

Governor Idris expressed his appreciation for the defectors' decision, assuring them of fair treatment. He referred to Geda as a political son and promised continued support. The governor also paid a courtesy call on Geda's father, Alhaji Abubakar Geda, who pledged his family's and associates' support for the governor's second term and the APC's electoral prospects. Governor Idris reaffirmed his administration's commitment to development and the welfare of Kebbi State's people.
