Adeleke Hails Local Content Policy as Osun Inaugurates Lameco Bridge

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke celebrated his administration's local content policy, stating it has successfully delivered world-class infrastructure and empowered local contractors and suppliers. The governor made these remarks while commissioning the Lameco Flyover Bridge in Osogbo, noting it was one of several significant projects ready for public use.

He emphasized that these projects align with his administration's promise to rebuild Osun through infrastructure improvements in roads, bridges, health, education, and water. He assured that the projects were executed with due process and transparency, without compromising the future.

The governor highlighted the flyover's quality as proof of the local content model's effectiveness, asserting that local engineers can achieve world-class standards. He also reported that his administration has completed over 27 kilometers of intracity roads in Osogbo and more than 300 kilometers of roads across the state, with over 10 mega projects finalized and awaiting commissioning.

We implemented this and other mega projects in accordance with due process, transparency and without mortgaging the future of our children.

Adeleke charged the public and the Ministry of Works to ensure the bridge's maintenance and protection. He issued a stern warning against street trading and the vandalism of the bridge's railings and street lights.

The high quality of this flyover confirms the workability of our local content model. We have proven to the whole world that our local engineers can perform to world class standards.
